Basic Photography (Digital)

Learn how to take photos that make you proud. We start the basic photography course from the very beginning and cover all elements that you need to be in control of in order to create good images:

  • Aperture
  • Shutter Speed
  • ISO
  • Light and Exposure
  • Focus Control
  • White Balance
  • Rule of Thirds
  • Composition and Vantage Point
  • Movement (freezing and blurring)
  • Retouching ( an introduction to Photoshop and Lightroom)

This Basic Photography course will consist of 6 two-hour sessions, three outdoors (in parks and interesting sites), and three online evaluation and discussion sessions. We will cover all the subjects taught in the regular course and there will also be weekly assignments. This format will offer an opportunity to enjoy some very nice sites in Amsterdam while still adhering to the government regulations and staying safe.

On the Camera For this course, we recommend a DSLR camera, Mirrorless camera, or Compact camera, which has Aperture (A/Av) Priority, Shutter (S/Tv) Priority, and Manual Mode.
